Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris, born on the 20th of October, 1964 was a prominent American politician and lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. She is the first woman elected vice president, and she is also the highest-ranking female officer in the history of America. Being a part of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general for California between 2011 and 2017 and was a United States senator representing California in 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then, she was appointed to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010 she was elected Attorney General of California and re-elected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez during the 2016 Senate elections, becoming the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to serve as a senator in the United States Senate. As senator, Harris fought for federal de-scheduling of healthcare, and legalization of cannabis as a pathway to citizenship of undocumented immigrants, and the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. Her most well-known accomplishments are her sharp questions to Trump administration officials during Senate hearings.
